Membership

To receive membership at Ascension Episcopal Church and its rewards, there are just a few things expected of you.
The first is that you need to be baptized. The second is that you attend servcies and partake of the Holy communion as often as you can (a minimum of three times each year to be a "Member in Good Standing", according to the national Episcopal Church). The third is that you offer a financial pledge toward the annual budget. Fourth is that you volunteer some of your personal time to the church.
Members of the Church are eligible for election to serve on the Vestry and/or as an officer of the Diocese of Minnesota, our statewide affiliation. Members are allowed use of church facilities for services or events approved by the Rector, such as weddings and funerals, and are eligible to purchase a niche in our Columbarium as a final resting place. Those interested in membership meet with the Rector and/or attend a once-a-quarter Episcopal 101 class.
Those of you confirmed in another Christian tradition are encouraged to be Received into the Episcopal Church at our twice yearly service of Confirmation and Reception, held at St. Mark's Cathedral in Minneapolis.
