Bagpipes & Bonfires [entertainment]

True to its name, a highlight of this year’s Bagpipes & Bonfires will be an appearance by the Minnesota Police Pipe Band.  Kicking things off with a march up Third Street to the Church at 5:30 PM, the acclaimed pipers and drummers will perform additional short street parades every half hour until 8 PM.

Between parades, British Isles dancers will be on hand to demonstrate traditional steps, and jugglers (one on stilts) will circulate to see how many balls (and who knows what else) they can keep in the air.  Ascension’s vocal/instrumental group, Fluke, will also be on hand to entertain with a selection of Celtic favorites.
