The Glory of God is the human being fully alive. — Iranaeus
At Ascension we enjoy coming together on Sunday mornings and other times to discuss and explore a wide variety of topics that help us live fuller lives in the light of Christ. Episcopalians like to ask tough questions, and we know it may take time to live into the answers. So we come together humbly seeking answers, sometimes guided by a priest, sometimes by a guest lecturer, sometimes by a leader appointed to prepare for our subject.
Our seeking is guided by the triangle of Prayer, Action, and Inquiry.
PRAY: We pray on Sundays together in church or out in nature or at home alone or with family during the week.
ACT: Whether at home, at work, or in our community and the world, almost all our life is action.
INQUIRE: We need reflection time to realize what prayer and action have shown us, to make conscious choices about how we want to live, and to explore new information from books, documentaries, speakers, and more. We also want to hear what and how others think and see, so that we benefit from the wisdom of the community.
