Ascension Mission

At Ascension Church we are called to “strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being.” (BCP p. 305) To do this we seek ways to learn about one another and provide care and compassion outside our church walls.

Ascension Church supports numerous organizations and programs including Our Community Kitchen, Last Sunday Supper, the children of the Ascension Head Start Program, Books for Africa, the Jon Francis Foundation, God’s Child Project in Guatemala, the Metropolitan Council of Churches Refugee Service, Hope for the Journey Home Homeless Shelter, and many others. We also align with our diocesan initiatives for creation care, racial reconciliation and gun violence prevention.

At Ascension we are lifelong learners and our Sunday speakers share experiences which expand our worldview and support these mission intentions. Please see the Events Calendar/”Get Involved” for more information.
