What to Expect
One of our members will GREET you and can help you find a seat, answer questions you may have, and give you a printed guide for the service. First-time visitors may want to simply listen and enjoy the music and prayers rather than try to follow every detail. Regular visitors easily follow the routine pattern of our prayers.
From September through April, CHILDREN ages 4-years-old to 2nd grade may enjoy a worship service crafted for their age with the gospel story, prayers, and music. They begin worship with their family in the church, then parade out together, and finally rejoin their families in the church for Holy Communion.
ALL are invited to RECEIVE the bread and wine of Holy Communion. We believe Christ wants to draw everyone to himself. If you are fed by this sacrament and have not been baptized, please speak with the priest to learn more about the meaning and depth of the prayers and sacraments available to you.
Most Sundays we gather for coffee, treats, and CONVERSATION after worship at tables in our parish hall. All are welcome, especially visitors.
We pray each Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The 8:00 a.m. service is spoken, a little quieter, and does not include music. The 10:00 a.m. service includes hymns and choral music. Except during the summer months, the later service also includes worship for children.
Parking & Accessibility
The City Parking ramp between 2nd and 3rd Streets is free on Sundays until 1:00 p.m. Street parking is available on many streets in the church neighborhood. Handicap spots are open directly in front of the church on 3rd Street and in the church driveway (please pull all the way forward). The 3rd Street entrance on the lower level is easy for wheelchairs and walkers and is right beside our elevator.
Ascension Episcopal Church is conveniently located in the beautiful, historic district of Stillwater, Minnesota.

Our nursery is a safe and loving place available for children 3 years of age and younger. It is located on the lower level just past the elevator. From September through April, trained caregivers staff the nursery from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.. During the summer months, families are welcome to use the nursery throughout the morning. Nursery staff have had required background checks and Safe Church Training. Your child’s safety and well-being is of utmost importance to us. Parents sign children in on arriving and sign out again when picking up.
