The Creation Care ministry promotes mindful and faithful care of all of God’s creation by encouraging a reverence for the earth as formed by God.
The ministry aims to inspire, educate, and support our congregation and its leadership to live increasingly sustainable lives, including advocating for environmental equity for all. Members of this ministry encourage the congregation through such activities as articles in The Font, bulletin board displays, observance of the church seasons related to the creation, and intergenerational events.
They help care for creation through activities such as composting, Adopt-a-Highway events, supporting pollinators, and helping to maintain the church’s gardens. They also partner with other ministries within the parish, the community, and the broader faith community.
Members of the ministry typically meet monthly and welcome new members and new ideas to use “the earth's resources rightly in the service of others and to [God’s] honor and glory.” (Book of Common Prayer)
