This exceptional duo features Dick Hensold (Highland reel pipes, Northumbrian smallpipes, whistles) and Victor Zupanc (composer, keyboardist, and Music Director for the Children’s Theatre Company). The program centers on Hensold’s extensive study of Cape Breton piping and will also showcase a variety of Celtic music played on his other traditional bagpipes. Cape Breton, located at the eastern end of Nova Scotia, was settled 200 years ago by Gaelic-speaking Scots who preserved a very old piping style originally from Scotland’s Hebrides Islands.
